Alliance Engineering of Oregon saved on storage hardware with StarWind Virtual SAN

Published: July 2016

Alliance Engineering required high availability. To get it, they needed a shared storage, as their virtual machines were hosted by ESXi. Dedicated storage hardware was considered as an option, but the issue was its high price and complicated implementation and maintenance. StarWind Virtual SAN provided shared storage between the ESXi hosts and at the same time allowed local storage for the respective VMs. In the end, the company received an infrastructure, which is perfectly supplemented by the shared storage component of VMware HA failover system.
