PROBLEM

Westmoreland Mining was looking to upgrade the virtualization capabilities at its remote office/branch office (ROBO) locations. The sites were equipped with legacy SANs governed by VMware vSphere. The company needed to introduce hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) technologies without having to break the bank on over-provisioned VSAN solutions.

SOLUTION

Westmoreland Mining was able to satisfy the above-mentioned needs, and more, thanks to StarWind HyperConverged Appliance (HCA). StarWind was able to provide flexible compute and storage solutions for the company’s ROBO. It enabled them to have highly available (HA) storage on affordable hardware. As a result, Westmoreland Mining can enjoy all the benefits of modern hyper-converged technologies and rock-solid hardware.
