Inflexion reduces maintenance costs and downtime by replacing its multi-server and SAN infrastructure with StarWind HCI Appliance (HCA)
CHALLENGE
Before deploying StarWind HCI Appliance (HCA), Inflexion relied on three Dell servers connected to two separate SANs and managed through a network switch. The entire setup ran on VMware and demanded constant oversight. Managing multiple hardware components, storage arrays, and network configurations took a lot of time for a system administrator. The number of devices made maintenance more complicated than necessary. Upgrading individual pieces of hardware would have required further investment and added more complexity. Inflexion needed a solution that fit a limited budget without sacrificing reliability.
We purchased our StarWind HCAs almost 3 years ago with the hope that they would simplify our environment, and they’ve done exactly that. We’ve been running about 50 VMs since we implemented everything, with zero downtime.

SOLUTION
Inflexion chose StarWind HCI Appliance because it replaced the mix of servers and SANs with a simplified, all-in-one platform. The deployment eliminated much of the hardware and reduced the number of components the administrator needed to maintain. Network documentation and configuration became easier because the environment no longer involved multiple storage devices and complex connections. Since switching to StarWind almost three years ago, Inflexion has been running around 50 VMs without any downtime. StarWind ProActive Premium Support helped detect and resolve issues quickly with minimal involvement from the administrator. Based on the reliability, Inflexion plans to continue with StarWind when it is time to refresh the hardware.
