Unified storage SAN/NAS

StarWind’s SAN/NAS Cluster File Share enables the creation of a unified storage pool that combines the advantages of high performance shared SAN and network file sharing. With this feature, companies can use one physical storage infrastructure to accomplish two global storage-related tasks: ensure the continuity and safety of business processes and provide users with a file sharing option.

SAN/NAS Cluster File Share manages both file-based (NAS) and block-level (SAN) data. StarWind builds multiprotocol centralized storage virtually, which supports the CIFS and NFS protocols of the NAS and iSCSI protocol of SAN.

Unified storage SAN/NAS brings many benefits:
  • Centralized storage infrastructure increases disk space utilization and reduces hardware costs, as there is only one storage system to be deployed, configured, and maintained
  • Simplified maintenance requires less time and effort
  • Users obtain a common user-friendly interface for both SAN and NAS and the unified storage system in one physical infrastructure.
