Wadebridge School ensures the continuity of its educational projects by creating a scalable hyperconverged IT infrastructure around StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN)
CHALLENGE
Before StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN) deployment, Wadebridge School faced significant challenges with its existing HP LeftHand P4000 Virtual SAN Appliance that had become obsolete, leading to high maintenance costs and complicated support requirements. Additionally, storage was at capacity, leaving no room for expansion. The school relied on ESXi as its hypervisor, but the outdated system could not keep up with the increasing demands.
Upgrading the infrastructure was essential, but finding a cost-effective solution that wouldn’t disrupt ongoing operations was a major hurdle.
The resulting infrastructureprovided by StarWind VSAN is performing well. It feels more solid, is easier to update and manage. All requirements have been met.

SOLUTION
Wadebridge School chose StarWind VSAN due to its strong value proposition and excellent support tailored for educational institutions. StarWind’s team conducted a thorough inspection of the current setup and devised a plan that retained the existing ESXi hosts while replacing the outdated HP LeftHand P4000 Virtual SAN Appliance with StarWind VSAN. Additional storage capacity was also provided. StarWind handled all configuration and testing, ensuring a smooth transition.
The new infrastructure proved to be more stable, easier to manage, and fully met the school’s requirements, providing a reliable and scalable solution.
