CHALLENGE

Before implementing StarWind HCI Appliance (HCA), WebID Solutions GmbH had an infrastructure consisting of two separate hypervisor hosts. As hosts had no connection to each other, it made it impossible to migrate virtual machines (VMs) between them.

This lack of connectivity created a situation where maintenance could only be performed outside of working hours. This limited the flexibility and efficiency of its IT operations, causing disruptions and additional workload. While conventional storage solutions could have been an option, the associated costs were a significant concern.

StarWind offers a solution that keeps costs low but also offers the benefits of a storage solution.

SOLUTION

StarWind HCI Appliance allowed WebID Solutions GmbH to create a hyperconverged environment and seamlessly integrate and manage its VMs, eliminating the previous constraints. The company gained increased capabilities for patching and creating VMs. This reduced the need for night shifts and enhanced its overall IT operations. The resulting infrastructure works efficiently, satisfying all requirements.

WebID Solutions GmbH is also considering future projects, such as StarWind Backup Appliance, indicating its trust and satisfaction with StarWind’s solutions as it continues to improve its IT infrastructure.
