St. Johns Packaging ensures 24/7 manufacturing operations by creating a highly available Hyper-V infrastructure around StarWind HCI Appliance (HCA)
CHALLENGE
Before deploying StarWind HCI Appliance (HCA), St. Johns Packaging operated its virtualized environment on Dell servers running Hyper-V but lacked infrastructure redundancy for critical virtual machines (VMs). A hardware failure could result in VM downtime, directly affecting business operations. The existing environment did not provide high availability (HA), making infrastructure resilience a priority.
The company required a solution that would eliminate single points of failure. Equally important was access to responsive vendor support to ensure reliable day to day operations.
We selected StarWind because it is easy to manage and provides excellent support. We now operate three StarWind HCI Appliance clusters. We will continue renewing our hardware and HCA infrastructure with StarWind for our main server room.

SOLUTION
St. Johns Packaging deployed StarWind HCI Appliance, implementing HA Hyper-V clusters that provide hardware redundancy for critical workloads. The company now operates three StarWind HCI Appliance clusters, ensuring VMs remain available even in the event of server hardware failure. The integrated monitoring and notification capabilities enable the IT team to identify and address issues quickly, minimizing operational impact.
The infrastructure has proven reliable in production, meeting all availability requirements while remaining easy to manage. Based on this experience, the company plans to continue refreshing its primary server room infrastructure with StarWind HCI Appliance.
