Rodillian Multi Academy Trust ensures uninterrupted access to critical educational services by centralizing its IT infrastructure around StarWind HCI Appliance (HCA)
CHALLENGE
Before deploying StarWind HCI Appliance (HCA), Rodillian Multi Academy Trust faced mounting challenges with its aging and fragmented IT infrastructure. Each school within the Trust operated on separate domains, running on outdated servers, most of which were out of warranty and support. The setup included a mix of legacy hardware with either discrete SANs or direct-attached storage, making centralized management nearly impossible. Hypervisor use was inconsistent across the Trust, with some schools relying on Hyper-V while others ran VMware. This heterogeneous environment lacked the resilience, performance, and scalability required to support central services and accommodate the future growth of the Trust.
StarWind HCI Appliance was a highly cost-effective HyperConverged solution that provided both resilience and high-specification hardware. We went to the market and looked at other solutions, and this was deemed the best value solution for our requirements.

SOLUTION
Rodillian Multi Academy Trust chose StarWind HCI Appliance because it was the most cost-effective option on the market that also delivered highspecification hardware and built-in resilience. By adopting StarWind HCI Appliance, the Trust successfully transitioned to a centralized IT environment running on Hyper-V. The new infrastructure enabled the consolidation of all domains into a single, unified system. It not only improved performance significantly but also offered the scalability required for future expansion. The deployment has been running smoothly, meeting all operational requirements and positioning the Trust for continued growth without IT constraints.
