CHALLENGE

Before deploying StarWind HCI Appliance (HCA), iF1 Solutions relied on legacy HPE infrastructure but faced significant challenges in scaling and upgrading. The existing environment was difficult to manage, with unclear upgrade paths and high costs.

Finding an alternative that was both cost-effective and easy to deploy was critical. Other solutions, like Scale Computing, were considered but ultimately ruled out due to prohibitive costs.

We chose StarWind because it was recommended by another partner. Ease of deployment and cost were the key factors that brought us to StarWind HCI Appliance.

SOLUTION

iF1 Solutions chose StarWind HCI Appliance because it allowed it to replace obsolete HPE SANs and servers and move to hyperconvergence. A 2-node StarWind cluster newly created provided scalability and high availability (HA). Additionally, by converting VMware ESXi virtual machines (VMs) to Hyper-V, the company significantly reduced licensing costs.

This new infrastructure meets all performance and scalability requirements while saving $10,000– $20,000 per client compared to HPE/Dell alternatives. Moving forward, iF1 Solutions plans to continue replacing legacy infrastructure with StarWind solutions.
