CHALLENGE

Before using StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN), Medical Billing Resources, Inc. relied on a VMware setup paired with an EqualLogic SAN, which had reached the end of its lifecycle. This outdated environment didn’t meet modern requirements. A complete technology refresh was essential, but traditional SAN appliances were too costly.

With a tight budget and no room for error, the company needed an economical yet robust solution to modernize its infrastructure.

StarWind was the most economical solution versus buying a new SAN appliance. With StarWind, everything runs beautifully.

SOLUTION

Medical Billing Resources, Inc. chose StarWind VSAN as it stood out for its cost-effectiveness and eliminated the need for a new SAN appliance. StarWind VSAN replaced the outdated EMC VNXe 3100, enabling a smooth transition to a Hyper-V environment running on Windows Server. It also provided the option to upgrade some of the network adapters to 10GB instead of using bonded 1GB connectors and create a highly available (HA) Hyper-V environment.

The infrastructure now operates flawlessly, meeting all requirements and delivering a reliable, high- performing setup. Additionally, the company saved over $10,000, with StarWind’s Support Team ensuring a hassle-free experience throughout.
