Infinite Communications (s) Pte Ltd achieves zero downtime and reduces maintenance costs by up to 70% by ensuring high availability with StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN)
CHALLENGE
Before deploying StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN), Infinite Communications (S) Pte Ltd faced a critical lack of redundancy in its public address (PA) system software infrastructure. Their Hyper-Vbased environment operated with each host using only local storage. As a result, any hardware failure or OS crash on one server led to an immediate loss of half the PA system’s capacity. Recovery required manual intervention – detecting the failure, importing the VM disk through Failover Cluster Manager, and restarting the VM – a process that was too slow,Infinite Communications Achieves Zero Downtime with StarWindespecially during emergencies.
The company explored traditional SAN solutions like Dell EMC, but they were cost-prohibitive. With an urgent need for high availability (HA), it needed a solution that was both effective and economically viable.
StarWind VSAN has transformed our Public Address infrastructure into a fully redundant, zero-downtime service.

SOLUTION
StarWind VSAN provided Infinite Communications (S) Pte Ltd with a fully redundant, HA, and costeffective IT infrastructure. By pooling local disks across its Hyper-V hosts into a shared, mirrored datastore, StarWind eliminated single points of failure. In case of a host outage or VM crash, the failover process became seamless – another host would automatically take over and restart the affected VM in under 10 seconds, ensuring uninterrupted emergency paging. Unified management via the StarWind Management Console simplified tasks like storage resizing to just a couple of clicks.
The company now enjoys zero unplanned PA system downtime, even during host firmware upgrades. Storage provisioning time has dropped from hours to minutes, and ongoing maintenance costs have been slashed by up to 70%.
