Heart Living Centers ensures 24/7 access to critical healthcare applications for medical staff by modernizing IT infrastructure with StarWind HCI Appliance (HCA)
CHALLENGE
Before deploying StarWind HCI Appliance (HCA), Heart Living Centers relied on several aging white box servers running Linux and a small business server (SBS) for file storage, website hosting, email, DHCP, and DNS services. The infrastructure lacked the resources needed to support business growth and newly added healthcare entities, including home health and pharmacy operations. Expanding the environment with separate physical servers for every new workload was too expensive and difficult to scale.
The organization needed a flexible virtualization platform with high availability (HA) and shared storage capabilities that could grow together with the business without requiring large upfront investments.
The StarWind HCA nodes allowed us to rapidly build out critical infrastructure for supporting our nursing staff. Additionally, the hardware allowed us to support our Pharmacy with the rapid deployment of a document management system.

SOLUTION
Heart Living Centers chose StarWind HCI Appliance to replace all legacy hardware with a modern virtualized infrastructure built for scalability and resiliency. The two node HA cluster provided highly available shared storage and allowed IT teams to rapidly deploy new virtual servers and business applications. The new platform significantly improved uptime and simplified infrastructure management while supporting critical services for nursing staff and a document management system for the pharmacy department.
The ability to start with a cost effective two node configuration and expand later by adding nodes or upgrading hardware gave the organization the flexibility to follow a true grow as you go model without sacrificing performance or functionality.
