CHALLENGE

Before deploying StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN), COFED relied on a single data server running Microsoft Hyper-V for its daily operations. The server had 8 TB of storage, but it was the only point of access for business data. When the data center experienced an outage, services stopped completely. Employees could not work for several hours or even a full day while waiting for the system and data restoration. This created delays, productivity loss, and stress for the IT team. The organization needed a reliable and affordable solution to ensure data remained available at all times. Other options were either too complex or did not provide a simple and stable way to synchronize data and maintain continuous access.

With StarWind VSAN, all services remain available, data is always up-to-date, and users continue to work smoothly. Since 2018, with StarWind, we have never experienced service interruptions.

SOLUTION

COFED chose StarWind VSAN for its performance, stability, and strong data synchronization capabilities. The organization redesigned its infrastructure and deployed two servers in a highavailability (HA) cluster.

StarWind VSAN synchronizes storage between both nodes and ensures that if one server goes offline, the workload instantly switches to the second node without interruption. All data stays current, services remain available, and employees continue working without noticing a failure. Since 2018, COFED has not experienced downtime, even during operating system updates. The new environment meets all needs, and the organization now plans to expand with two new high-capacity servers.
