Lipsey Logistics, LLC enables 24/7 operation of its critical services by creating a highly available IT infrastructure with StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN)
CHALLENGE
Before StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN) deployment, Lipsey Logistics, LLC relied on multiple separate physical servers, some of which were over seven years old. While backups were in place, they offered no redundancy, meaning that any hardware failure could lead to several hours of downtime. Essential services like the phone system, domain controllers, and various other business-critical applications would be offline until backups were staged and restored.
Upgrading to a modern infrastructure that provided high availability (HA) seemed financially out of reach, as traditional solutions required a significant investment that exceeded the company’s budget constraints.
With StarWind VSAN, we migrated several of our physical servers to virtual machines and moved them over; voilà! We now had high availability.

SOLUTION
Lipsey Logistics, LLC chose StarWind VSAN because it enabled HA without the need for an expensive hyperconverged infrastructure. The company acquired two reasonably priced servers and deployed StarWind VSAN to create a resilient IT environment. By migrating several physical servers to virtual machines, Lipsey Logistics effectively eliminated single points of failure and ensured uninterrupted operation of critical systems.
The new setup fully meets the company’s needs, offering stability, redundancy, and financial feasibility. While there are no immediate plans for expansion, the company is confident that StarWind VSAN will continue to support its growth as future needs evolve.
