CHALLENGE

Before deploying StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN), Burnham Holdings, Inc. relied on a Hyper-V cluster backed by a traditional SAN, which had served its purpose for years but was nearing the end of its lifecycle. It was time to upgrade the hardware and modernize the virtualization platform. The company decided to move to VMware ESXi for better flexibility and performance. However, VMware vSAN was not a feasible option due to its high cost and complexity. Burnham Holdings, Inc. needed a shared storage solution that would provide high availability (HA) and fault tolerance without adding financial overhead. Finding the right technology that combined reliability and expert support became the main challenge.
