CHALLENGE

Before deploying StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN), Synergiums IT infrastructure relied on a twonode HyperV cluster with a physical SAN running all HDDand multiple standalone servers. This setup posed a significant risk due to a single point of failure (SPOFinherent in the SAN. The absence of high availability (HA) and fault tolerance jeopardized the companys IT performance, data security, and overall business continuity.

To mitigate this risk, Synergium sought software– defined storage and considered Microsoft Storage Spaces Direct (S2D). However, after reading reviews and comparing costs, the company opted for StarWind VSAN, which offered a more budgetfriendly and featurerich alternative.

StarWind VSAN eliminated the single point of failure and reduced costs.

SOLUTION

Synergium chose StarWind VSAN because it enabled the creation of a faulttolerant and highly available storage pool. This solution eliminated the need for an expensive physical SAN and resolved the SPOF issue, ensuring uninterrupted business operations. Additionally, StarWind VSAN served as the backbone for building an HA cluster, boosting the reliability of Synergiums IT infrastructure.

As a result, Synergium achieved a highperformance IT environment without incurring additional costs, ensuring longterm resilience and efficiency.
