Before deploying StarWind HCI Appliance (HCA), Anchorage Radiation Therapy Center relied on multiple standalone physical servers, each dedicated to a specific role, running on Microsoft Hyper V. This architecture lacked high availability (HA) and sufficient hardware redundancy, leaving critical clinical applications vulnerable to hardware failures. Any unexpected server outage could interrupt access to vital systems, potentially resulting in thousands of dollars in lost revenue for every hour of downtime.
The organization required a hyperconverged platform capable of maintaining service continuity while improving infrastructure reliability.
Thanks to StarWind, now we have an HA set of Hyper-V servers, and the load is distributed across both to ensure the best performance. We will continue to use StarWind and add/upgrade servers as needed.
