The current infrastructure with StarWind operates according to project expectations and meets the set objectives framework,
providing a guarantee of storage redundancy in the event of a physical server problem.

CHALLENGE
Before the deployment of StarWind Virtual SAN (vSAN), Daboula’s existing failover cluster infrastructure relied on networked physical storage. The main problem was that each dedicated server had become obsolete, necessitating the implementation of a new data replication and failover cluster solution. What compounded the issue was the requirement for redundant storage at the physical level, involving different hardware components. This was especially challenging since the failover cluster consisted of only two physical servers. After evaluating several storage solutions, Daboula chose StarWind vSAN due to its exceptional features and benefits
SOLUTION
StarWind vSAN enabled storage replication across the two physical servers while allowing the same servers to serve as the foundation for the failover cluster. This innovative approach eliminated the need for a third server solely for storage purposes, preventing the scenario where a crash would result in no active services for the cluster.
Daboula has future plans to continue leveraging StarWind for effective data replication solutions and to further optimize server resource utilization.
