Tetraedro ensures 24/7 operation of its differentiated hosting services by building highly available softwaredefined storage with StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN)
CHALLENGE
Before deploying StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN), Tetraedro operated a Hyper-V cluster on HPE ProLiant DL servers connected to HPE MSA SAN arrays to deliver virtual private server hosting for more than 150 SMB customers. As its hosting environment expanded to over four high-density Hyper-V hosts with 8 CPUs and 578 GB of RAM, the existing storage platform no longer provided the flexibility needed to scale efficiently.
The company required a highly available (HA) shared storage solution that could support multiple storage tiers, simplify future capacity growth, and deliver predictable performance and costs while enabling different service levels for customers.
StarWind VSAN has very much simplified our storage maintenance. We have a lot more options in choosing what disks to buy and when to expand our storage.

SOLUTION
Tetraedro selected StarWind VSAN to build a highly available software-defined storage platform for its Hyper-V environment. StarWind VSAN enabled the company to expand individual storage tiers independently, providing greater flexibility in selecting drives and scaling capacity without replacing the entire storage system. The solution also delivered predictable pricing and consistent performance while simplifying storage administration.
As a result, Tetraedro was able to expand its SSD tier, reconfigure storage, and perform disk replacements without downtime, improving storage maintenance and ensuring uninterrupted service availability.
