Re: Xenserver 5.5 and StarWind 5.0 (Enterprise Unlimited)

That is absolutely correct! Just uncomment this config file string, save it, re-start the service and everything will work.

Thanks.

Re: Could not power on device: no space left on device ?

The free version allows you to create the image files up to 2 TB. Why don't you create say a 100 GB image file and store your VM there?

Thanks.

Re: ESXi3.5U4: Not able to add iSCSI networking

What I could suggest you is to install StarWind on a separate Physical PC (or at least a virtual on another box) with a static IP address. Otherwise you will always get a mess of IP's of your virtual machines and you will be "looking for" StarWind server's IP address again and again. Thanks.

Please note that this instruction and recomendation is followed at your own risk. We cannot garantee the stable work as well as data consistency on the targets that are created on this OS.

That's necessary for Xen server only, ESX and MS will allow using MPIO without editing the configuration file.

Re: One large iSCSI target or multiple small ones?

I'm splitting the topic since this is sort of another story... Have you tried updating your StarWind version to the latest build? Also, does this happen with 4.2 or with 5.0? Does the OS just freeze or it simply says "Application does not respond". The latter can happen with StarWind and o...

Re: Should it work on 2008 R2 (x64) for AoE?

Bill,

Please make sure that a volume (LUN) is already created on your AoE device.

Also, try checking "force configuration string" checkbox.

Thanks.

Re: 2008 Clustering disk validation problem

Christian,

For building a shared storage for Windows Servers you should use MS iSCSI Initiator. Starport does not support persistent reservation at this point, so for building MS Windows Clusters with StarWind shared storage please use MS iSCSI Initiator.

Thanks.
