Move image File

We have a non HA environment and we want to move the image file of one iSCSI Target to a different drive on the same server. We are using Version 5.5. As far as I have seen, there is no "easy" way of doing that. What I would do now is the following:

1. Stop the Starwind Service
2. Copy the image file to the new location
3. Create a new target using the copied image file
4. Delete the old target and telling the client server to use the new target

Is there a better way of moving an image file?

you can stop the starwind service, move the img, then edit the starwind.cfg file to have the new location, restart starwind service. Then you don't have to do anything on the initiator side.

Or, if it's the only img on the old drive, and going to be the only img on the new drive, you could stop the starwind service, copy the img over, and then use windows disk management to change the drive letter, so that the new drive has the same letter as the old one, then restart starwind.

Either way, you don't want the initiator machines to be trying to use the target while you do this, so you may need to stop services that rely on the target, or simply shut down the initiator machines.

I just want to let you know, that it worked. I stopped the service, copied the image-file and changed the drive letters (it was the only image on the drive). After starting the service again the copied image was in place and did his work! Thank you again!
