Re: Is Tape Redirector compatible with Hyper-V Server 2012 R2?

Could you please disconnect the device from all other initiators.
The tape device you've created doesn't support more than 1 iSCSI session so the target Log On fails.

Re: Add existing device to target

Hi Halsund,
Thank you for your feedback!
We are going to change device namings in the upcoming V8.
For now you can see the device internal name (imagefileX) in the right tab of the console when the device is selected.

Re: Frequent hangs with VMware

Hi!
Did you try disabling VAAI for the StarWind targets?
The version you're running doesn't fully support VAAI so It's recommended to disable it.

Re: StarWind & Failover Cluster issues

Hi CBIT, The described behavior may be caused networking. Could you please tell me how the configuration is wired together? Also, could you please tell me if you have followed the instructions of the guide below (page 15-17) to connect to the iSCSI targets. http://www.starwindsoftware.com/tmplink/Na...

Re: Odd sync kicked off automatically

Hi mooseracing! I would recommend opening a support ticket at http://www.starwindsoftware.com/support-form Or directly submitting an email to support@starwindsoftware.com Our engineers will require System and Application Event logs, and StarWind logs from both machines. You can attach them if the to...

Re: Data corruption on rebooting starwind on diskbridge LUN

Hi Sunycong, There can be multiple reasons for this to happen. Let's start with a little more information on your systems: StarWind version, vSphere version, network connection details (teaming, if any). Also, I'd like to know the cache type and size you've chosen when creating both file based devic...

Re: v8 additional nodes

The write penalty you get with RAID-5 becomes cadaverous when you do random writes.
Yes, it's good for space, but it's prone to slow down to the point of becoming useless if a drive failure occurs.

Re: Diskless Booting from iSCSI Target

Hi Ara,
You can use StarWind V2V Converter for converting files with vhd\vmdk formats into img files. These can then be used for iSCSI boot.

Re: Can't re-add a failed lun - States over licensed capacity

Hi Phil,
We have removed capacity limitations for the non-HA devices in recent builds of v6.
Is there any chance you could get the latest version from our website and try to add the image file device again?

Re: Has Starwind lic. it's tech ???

Hi Fbifido, I can proudly say that all StarWind solutions are developed in-house. As for your question: The only way to minimize the network traffic between the hypervisor and the SAN is to use DAS. Alternative way is to carry out deduplication and compression between VM layer and networking layer. ...

Re: simulate

But for that I need a cluster not, I do not want cluster The reason why you don't see the data on the second server is because it's not aware of another partition table assigned to the iSCSI disk on first IIS server. This thing is common for all block based storage. In this case you need to configu...

Re: Couple of troubleshooting questions

That's quite interesting, I can only think about interference with the network activity on that network. By the way, do you have any additional meters other than RDP. In my experience RDP sustained a network cable disconnect for several seconds and didn't even grey out the RDP session window. It's d...
