Re: Disk Bridging Bug Report

AKnowles, We have reviewed the logs. The only wrong thing in logs is error on locking the volumes of SSD storage. When DiskBridge opens device, it tries to lock volumes that reside on this device. This is needed to exclude possibility of simultaneous access to disk volumes from server' OS and from c...

Re: Disk Bridging Bug Report

AKnowles,
Could you please send us also the previous log file? StarWind service starts new log file after each restart, so I assume, all the interesting records are there.
Current file contains records starting from 3/1 18:08:27.854 .

Re: Windows Server 2012 R2 and Storage Spaces compatiblity

Storage spaces report 4k logical block size when reside on disks with 4k physical block size, even when disk reports 512 bytes logical block size. 4k block size for underlying storage is still not supported. It can work in some conditions, but there is some work to be done to add full support of 4k ...

Re: restore rebuild of failed node

Of course, we'll bring back the option to rename target for replica. Regarding the path to data for new replica - you can do it without changing default storage pool path: create partner device on the partner node, and select it as a replica in replication wizard. And we are thinking how to add path...

Re: StarWind iSCSI SAN Version 8.0 Beta-2

Ironwolf, 1. ImageFile issues: ImageFile devices don't support disks with 4k block size now. Previous versions allowed to create devices on such disks, but devices could function incorrectly. Now we have added check for 4k block size at the stage of device initialization. 2. one of structures of LSF...

Re: Deduplication for VM Problem beta

Thank you for the logs! In this build LSFS device frees up disk space when snapshot is deleted and when existing data is overwritten. But it doesn't processes UNMAP/TRIM requests yet. We are fixing this functionality now. UNMAP command can be sent to disk by application when some data is deleted fro...

Re: Poweshell code

Sorry for the lack of documentation! StarWindX library is being extended some faster that documentation for it. Device properties that are listed for IDevice are general. Each device type (HA, for example) has several specific properties. Some additional properties of HA device: ha_wait_on_autosynch...
