Re: resize iscsi volume in starwind and then in Server 2008

Hello, i expanded an starwind iscsi volume from 25GB to 40GB. I use this volume as shared storage in a windows 2008 cluster. In windows 2008 i can see an extra 15GB in disk manager but i can not expand the volume to 40GB; expand is grayed out , shrink does work. Any ideas? THanks Anthony Hi Anthony...

I'd suggest you to backup all files from the volume and run chkdsk against it.

It seems some files are corrupted if the error event 55 is reported...

hi,

Our test-lab is trying to reproduce the problem with our Coraid SR1521 and the recent StarPort.

Could you tell us the scenario(s) when the problem occurs?

Thank you for you feedback and your patience.

Hi Mike, 1) Use DiskBridge instead of SPTI for hard drives. 2) The MS iSCSI initiator is recommended for production systems. 3) To access a mounted iSCSI drive on the client, use the Disk Manager to initialize and format the disk. 4) For large hard drives (>2TB) the client system should be Windows S...

Hi, StarPort 3.6 is unable to recognize on-the-fly that an AoE device has changed it's size. So dismount and mount the Coraid volume after adding space to it. You need not convert the disk to dynamic to encrease your existing NTFS partition(s). On the Windows side use the disk partitioning tool ( DI...

Yes, the feature is available only in recent versions.

It should work well in v3.5.4+

Do you mean you need StarWind to listen to 2 different TCP/IP ports? It is possible, but you need to edit the config file (StarWind.cfg) manually and add the following rules: <connections> <connection value="127.0.0.1:3260"/> <connection value="192.168.0.1:7777"/> ... </connectio...

Hi, StarWind 3.5.x does not support the feature. Currently the persistent reservation subset that is implemented in StarWind supports the MS Windows Server 2008 clustering according to the MS specification. Are there any white-papers on the persistent reservation's features that are needed for your ...
