Re: Required # of Sync channels for each Client channels for HA

Actually this cannot be used as a rule. All depends on the load on the HA partners, the disks performance and it differs from an environment to another.
In your case I suggest you to disable one of the sync channel links (or two of them) and look at the new rates you'll get.

Re: ibvd files cannot be removed automatically

No, not really right, in your description you assume that ibvd are being merged: data in xxx001.ibvd will be copied to xxx003.ibvd, data in xxx002.ibvd will be copied to xxx004.ibvd, and so on... Actually this not how in works, in your case (Assume I keep 1 snapshot only and each snapshot time is 14...

Re: ibvd files cannot be removed automatically

Actually there is nothing wrong in your situation, the reason why the total sum of your ibvd files is so great can be only one: there have been a big changes performed between some (or all) snapshots. You have two options to solve the issue with the HDD space lack: 1- Add additional HDD. 2- Create a...

Great!
When you will publish information about planed functionalities of the next (v6?) version?

Regards.

Re: Enable/Disable write-back cache

Yes, absolutely right, in case of failure of one of the HA nodes we empty the cache then disable it till the failed node comes back. It is executed by a internal service command that cannot be launched externally (in the current version). Actually the idea you suggested is quite interesting, we will...

Re: Enable/Disable write-back cache

Hi, The only way to change cache setting (increase, decrease, enable, disable...) can be performed by recreating the target using the existing images. Hi, Simple question: It's possible to instruct the running service to enable/disable the write-back cache? My objective: I like to enable the write-b...

Re: Best practices - 4 NIC on the Starwind server. LACP or MPIO?

In the StarWind server side there is nothing to do, no MPIO nor LACP. You have 4 NICs on this server and 2 NICs on each of your 2 ESXi, the best configuration is to point from each ESXi to two NICs on the StarWind server, this should provide best performance, and MPIO on the ESXi will do the rest. T...

The better is to install StarWind to the new server, then copy the images, create new targets using existing images.

For type of targets available in StarWind free version you shouldn't need anything more.
