How to easily create virtualization infrastructure with VMware VVols and StarWind

22 June, 11 am PT / 2 pm ET

Host: Dima Yaprincev, Pre-sales Team Lead, StarWind

VMware Virtual Volumes (VVols) is an integration and management framework that exposes virtual disks as a primary unit of data management for storage arrays. It provides flexible and agile storage consumption for virtual machines by abstracting physical hardware resources into logical pools of capacity. VVols additionally provide finer control over the storage resources allowіng simple and dynamical provision of storage according to the VM needs. VMware VVols ultimately create a VM-centric infrastructure in which an individual VM, rather than a LUN, and its disks becomes a unit of storage management for a storage system.

Getting to understand your IT environment with Dell DPACK

25 May 11 am PT / 2 pm ET

Host: Alex Bykovskyi, Solutions Architect, StarWind

Dell Performance Analysis Collection Kit is a platform- and hardware-agnostic software provided free of charge allowing to evaluate the opportunities of the IT environment for virtualization. The tool estimates such core characteristics as disk IO, throughput, capacity and memory utilization and provides in-depth individual server report helping IT administrators to understand the environment and analyze existing bottlenecks or an aggregation of resource needs across disparate servers with a simulation of those workloads if consolidated to shared resources. Ultimately, Dell DPACK provides the needed information for mission critical IT decisions, be it moving to a shared platform or optimizing the current environment for further expansion.

Building a high-performing and fault-tolerant cluster with StarWind Grid Architecture

18 May 11 am PT / 2 pm ET

Host: Bogdan Savchenko, Solutions Engineer, StarWind

StarWind takes advantage of the “grid architecture” in its solutions, allowing to build a highly-fault-tolerant cluster while maintaining the principle of “data locality” to maximize performance. A cluster based on such topology, where a number of nodes are connected into a grid, delivers a high rate of resiliency and stays operational even after multiple nodes go down, whereas typical N+1 or N+2 systems can hardly withstand 1/3 nodes failure. The "grid architecture" allows creating a highly redundant and high-performing cluster while providing better scalability of the system.

Watch our Tap Room meeting to learn about the benefits that StarWind Grid Architecture brings to your IT infrastructure.

Useful tips for setting up Microsoft Active Directory Domain Controllers

11 May 11 am PT / 2 pm ET

Host: Alexey Khorolets, Pre-sales Engineer, StarWind

Microsoft Active Directory serves to store, organize and manage network resources, such as users, devices, computers and services, in a secure and logical structure, where domain controllers are the server computers responsible for security authentication requests within a Windows domain. Every domain in your Active Directory requires at least two functioning domain controllers to provide a fault-tolerant environment. Additionally, to avoid problems with domain controllers they should be located on different servers.
