Rocco’s Collision Center reduces IT operational expenses by building a hyperconverged infrastructure around StarWind HCA

PUBLISHED/UPDATED: December 16th, 2021

By choosing StarWind, we saved 50% of our StarWind purchase,
the minimum probably $50,000 over a 5-year period.

PROBLEM

Before using StarWind HyperConverged Appliance (HCA), Rocco’s Collision Center had a Scale Computing KVM- and Hyper-V-based hyperconverged infrastructure with hybrid SSDs and no GPU. The existing solution did not provide the company access other than GUI access to create and delete virtual machines (VMs). Rocco’s Collision Center was vendor-locked when researching or resolving any issue. So, getting the freedom of choice and simplicity in IT infrastructure management were the primary points the company wanted to bring in.

SOLUTION

Rocco’s Collision Center chose StarWind HCA primarily over the seamlessness it provides through the easy usability of a GUI if required. Yet the StarWind product still gives the company access to the power tools of Hyper-V and behind the scenes. All this is done with StarWind Command Center, a convenient single-pane-of-glass management and monitoring web UI. There is no longer a vendor lock-in problem since StarWind HCA provided complete freedom of choice in building an IT infrastructure, saving near $50,000 over 5 years at that. In the future when needed to expand or renew its environment, Rocco’s Collision Center plans to continue using StarWind products.
