StarWind Software invites you to learn how to set up your own iSCSI SAN to use in your VMware environment

Senior Solutions Engineer Bob Boule, Tuesday, July 14, 2009 2:00 PM EDT:

This session covered setting up StarWind iSCSI storage for use with ESX 3.5. Bob leaded all the steps for the networking setup of each of the ESX hosts, best practices for setting up the StarWind  Enterprise Server for use with ESX and details on how to use features like DRS, HA, VMotion, and Storage VMotion. He guided the use of VCB and the creation of LAN-free backups.

The session provided some overview material, but the bulk of the time was spent with Bob demonstrating the software and setup live. There was a question and answer period at the conclusion of the presentation.

Benefits of Shared Storage with VMware:
  • Increase application and data availability in VMware
  • Enable advanced features: VMotion, HA, DRS and VCB
