True Active-Active High Availability Storage
StarWind is a storage virtualization software which turns any industry-standard 64-bit or 32-bit Windows Server into a fail-safe, fault-tolerant SAN. The Active-Active High Availability technology uses Synchronous Data Mirroring and Automatic Failover and Failback with Fast Synchronization, allowing the storage to continue operating in the event of a failure. This technology permits you to configure an Active-Active 2 Node storage cluster which ensures a highly reliable and fault tolerant storage. StarWind 5.0 manages synchronous mirroring and automatic failover on a per-volume basis. Because the volume's identity never changes, even in the event of a node or a site failure, your server applications will maintain continuous data availability, eliminating a single point of failure.

- Storage hardware (tape drives, automatic tape libraries, high-performance Blu-Ray and HD-DVD burners, DVD-ROM changers etc.) can be "networked" using StarWind.
- Supports MPIO (Multi-Path I/O) through multiple sessions when using the Microsoft iSCSI Initiator.
- I/O read and write caching using RAM as cache to improve throughput and response time.
- Secure IPsec encryption for secure tunneling over WAN IP connections and CHAP authentication.
