MPIO

MPIO (Multipath I/O) is a technology that allows multiple paths of communication between the client and data storage. MPIO establishes simultaneous connections between the initiator and the target using either two independent networks, or two routes in one network. MPIO is used to improve the redundancy of SANs. Each server can have two or more NIC ports going to dual Ethernet switches for redundancy with NICs, Ethernet switches and SAN controllers. MPIO can also be used to “team” NIC ports for increased throughput.

StarWind iSCSI SAN fully supports MPIO.
