Sorry to dig out this post that way, but I'm currently experiencing the same problem with the same infrastructure. Can somebody tell me what needs to be done to sort this out ?

Drop a message to support@starwindsoftware.com with your zipped logs and they (support) will figure out will your issue be fixed with a newer version or not.
They will provide you with both a key and a download URL. We're busy with V8 beta so did not re-package updated Tape Redirector (will follow).

Yes, I put both StarWind and BackupExec logs in my mail. Feel free to contact me if you need anything else.

I still have the same problem here, despite the solutions offered by the tech support.

Hi, you all i have the same problem, when tape is inserted and i run a inventory the tape device becomes offline, if i restart backup exec services she turns online and can see the tape inside.

What was the resolution for this problem?

Update to the most recent build. We'll include updated version with upcoming V8. No more stand-alone Tape Redirector that would be part of the core product.

Sorry but i could not understand, is my version the last or not of tape Redirector? or tape Redirector the new version you are talking is now part of a new software ?

Hi Anatoly, Anton,

I'm seeing the exact same problem with the tape device in BE2012 on guest VM going offline after the tape is changed. Do you still want me to send logfiles to support@ or can you just PM me with the download links? I'm currently using the latest 5.8 available on your website.
