Disk space necessary for conversion

Postby jim7jim » Fri Mar 26, 2010 4:40 pm

Trying to convert a Win Server 2008 R2 VHD. I created a VHD with Disk2VHD by selecting only the 40GB C: drive. Used space on C: is approx. 15GB and the VHD file is 7GB. When trying to convert, StarWind is telling me I need 931GB to save the conversion.

This appears to be the total disk size of my Win 2008 Server but shouldn't it only take up the 40GB C: at the most?

I think the reason of it - is that you have made P2V migration before converting, and PC2VHD has made full copy of origin HDD.
