Recovery from failed HA node

Two node active / active HA cluster. Server 1 catches on fire, and is not going to be able to be put back in service. No backups exist for the OS or data files on server 1. Server 2 continues to operate normally, and data is being served as expected. Redundancy is no longer active.

What is the recovery process to turn this back into a HA cluster? (Is this documented somewhere?)

Do you want to re-make the HA cluster using existing node or do you want to bring new born parner to life? For the first scenario you just need to start synchrinization process (running in the background), for new born baby everything is a little bit more complicated... Please let us know so we could proceed from this point. Thanks!

I'd probably do the existing node. (The make a new cluster, would probably just have me storage vmotion over the vmware data to a new LUN)

I tried to just replace the existing node in test, but it didn't seem possible while things were running. Do I need to destroy the existing target and then re-create the target again pointing at the existing files on the remaining node?

If you're creating a new partner then you'll need to remove the exisiting HA target and recreate it using the existing image and newly created partner. Be sure to start the synchronization process in the right way
