HA ESX question

Postby leiw324 » Mon Nov 29, 2010 7:28 am

Hello

In the HA ESX document, the iscsi-initiator has two iscsi-target server IP address.
How can I know using which IP address to access storage ?

Thanks !

When Using HA you acces the storage as a multipathed device, so the storage is available through both IP addreses. I would also recommend you to set the Round Robin MPIO policy for the datastore you create on the HA device.

Hello

1. If I do not setup Round Robin MPIO policy, is its still randomly access to LUN by two iscsi-target server IP address ?

2. Where can I find Round Robin MPIO policy manual ?

Thanks !

1. No it uses 1 path as active and second as reserve
2. Go to datastore properties, and choose option for managing pathes.
