Version 5.8 Download for Dedupe Beta Testing???

Is Version 5.8 available for download and testing...I'd like to see how well dedupe (Beta) works? -Thank you.

Expecting it to be available for download approximately next week. The links will be posted in the beta forum, StarWind download page (with the "Upcoming" mark) and also will be sent to the registered beta testers.

You do miss nothing. We`ve faced some issues in one of the configurations, so we are still working hardly on it.

Is the 5.8 going to hit beta this month (November) or is it more likely next month / 2012?

With all the deduplication stuff and other under the hood changes I imagine you will probably want as big a beta as possible!

Hi Aitor.
We are really sorry for the delay with beta. I understand your frustration. Unfortunately the new features are not so simple and easy to implement. We need some extra time to fix the problems. And yes, we are expecting 5.8 beta this month.

I'm not frustrated at all - sorry if I gave that impression! I appreciate what a big effort 5.8 must be and if you've got known issues that you want to fix before the beta, then it's entirely right that it should be delayed. We're here find anything you may have missed! HA dedupe (with the performance as well as capacity savings it can bring) is going to be a really important feature, even more so if it launches within the next six-nine months (likely period of worldwide hard drive shortage due to the floods in Thailand)... but as always, it's important to get it working properly before release!

As my colleague mentioned before, the beta is "coming soon". I think you`ll have possibility to play with it `till the end of the month.
